The program is the FIRST IMPRESSION the judges have of you. They receive the program as soon as they arrive and use this book exclusively as a guide throughout the pageant. It’s your FIRST chance to stand out from all the rest. You want to stand out here and have them looking for YOU in all phases of competition! It allows you to tell the judges more of a story than just your interview.
Ads are a great way to show diversity by having different looks with multiple ads as well as show your initiative by the mere fact that you have sold ads. It makes you eligible for the Mrs. Photogenic Competition and it makes a super keepsake memorabilia publication to keep forever to commemorate the experience!

It also It makes you a celebrity in your community! The more people that meet you, the more opportunity you have to receive publicity. Meeting people from your community will give you chances to make public appearances. It also markets yourself to the judges. It shows that you will know how to market yourself if you were to win the title of Mrs. Alabama. America. It’s a win-win all the way around!
HOW TO APPROACH A POTENTIAL AD PURCHASER
Hello, my name is _____. I am a contestant in this year’s ___ COMPETITION. Would you be interested in purchasing an ad for your company in our Program Book? (If you have a program from a previous year – show it now.) Be business like. Give receipts as you collect checks. All arrangements are between you and the purchaser. Should you decide to withdraw from the pageant, the ads you sold will still be placed in the Program Book and any monies are not refundable or transferrable. Be sure to pick up one of the Business Cards for the company and send with their ad.so we will have their logo.
HOW LONG DOES THE SPONSOR HAVE AN OPTION ON YOUR SERVICES?
This is strictly an agreement between the parties. There is no specific time limit. We have found that many sponsors require less than was outlined in their original agreement. Some do not have to do anything at all. Whatever the case, most obligations can be completed within a short time.
SPOTLIGHT PAGES
Spotlight pages can be fun. It is simply using one single page to thank a number of sponsors OR one sponsor per page. Again, these are your ads. Design them as you like.
PAYMENT SPECIFICATIONS
Make Checks Payable to … (Your Name)
• Have the sponsor make the check payable to you.
• Write Mrs. Alabama America Ad in the bottom left hand corner.
• Deposit the check to your bank and then send payment to us.
If the sponsor asks for a Tax Number give him/her your social security number. We do not supply a Tax Number to your sponsor or send an invoice to them.
Payments may be made on PayPal to payments@mrsalabamaamerica.com. You may also by check, money order, or cashierís check. DO NOT send cash via mail. Write your full name on each payment you submit.
There is a $25 returned check fee. No personal checks or business checks for your ad will be accepted after May 26, 2024. All payments made after May 26, 2025 must be cashiers check, money order or PayPal ONLY.
PAGEANT ARTWORK & ADVERTISING GUIDELINES
Advertisers and contestants must be sure their artwork meets the guidelines listed below. All artwork (digital or camera ready) will be evaluated upon submission to ensure compliance. Any artwork that does not meet publication standards will be returned to the contestant or advertiser to be corrected. However, if you like, we will create your ad for a fee of $50.00 per ad.

The Program Book Advertisement Order Form should be completed & submitted for each ad you sell in order to help us maintain organization and clarification of ads to produce.
AD GUIDELINES
PRICE: $400 (IF FOR COMMISSION) IF PRINT-READY

$250 IF NOT PRINT-READY (one photo. $10 per additional photo)
All advertising must be submitted in either print ready artwork or digital formatting. Any ad submitted that is not print-ready will incur a $50.00 art fee.
Print-Ready”…means the ad should be provided to us exactly as the purchaser would like it to appear in the program. The purchaser may create it or have a graphic artist create it. Or, we can create it for a charge of $50.00.
Required File Size: 300 dpi – Do NOT pull graphics off websites; they are not the correct resolution.
Accepted Formats: Adobe PDF, JPG, EPS
Line Art Graphics: 1200 dpi
INCLUDE ALL FONTS AND GRAPICS! If you do not include fonts and graphics, we will not be able to reproduce your ad.
Ad page size must be 9.25x 12.25 full bleed total page size or 8 x 11 no bleed.
Live area should have a .25 inch margin between the outside edge of the bleed area and the live text (.25 for bleed and .5 for margin area on all sides) so the only thing that should extend past the live text area should be background texture.
It is always a good idea to include your photo, name and title on each page you sell. If you have a copy of last year’s program book, use it as a tool to get ideas.
